Chapter 6 Ramadan An event to share
Assalamoalykum. Ramadan An event to share is not only about bloggers sharing their recipes and experiences about ramadan in their specific countries. It’s about connecting with each person who loves food and want to share their experience. This platform has given me an opportunity to interact with many people here as well as other social media. I came across Leila from Sudan in one of the interactions on social media. She has her roots in different part of Africa. A medical student with a passion of cooking , today she is sharing her experiences with us .
Assalaamaleykum, hope you are all fine. I am Leila Salah Mohammed, 23years old Sudanese undergraduate medical student currently living in Khartoum.
Chapter 5 – Ramadan An event to Share
Assalamoalykum. A new day begins with new hopes, loads of dreams and aspiration for future. Welcome to the chapter 5 of Ramadan An event to share. Today we are travelling to the lands of Syria with Dimah from Orangeblossomwater. Her space showcases her love for her country Syria. It’s rich history & culture , food habits , celebrations. I was a bit hesitant when I approached her for my event, as I knew she had stopped posting due to crisis going in her home country. But sometimes you need to find acceptance in the helpless situations you are surrounded and live on praying for new sunrise and with hopes of better tomorrow. This is not about a particular religion or country. Having been raised as a muslim who tries to follow the sunnah of rasool , my heart bleed to each bloodshed and the way we are going forward. Dimah has started a series at her blog , To Aleppo with Love. Please check that also. Over to you Dimah.

Let’s check what she is sharing with us today.
This is my second time writing for Huma and I love this series she is doing where I get to check out all the other wonderful Muslim bloggers from all over the world and how they celebrate this holy month. For me I love Ramadhan, I don’t know about you but you get this sense of peace , early mornings its quiet , as work starts a little late. This year, my little guy who turned nine this year (Masha Allah) is hoping to fast more than he did last year. Kids start fasting or practice fasting around the age of 7 . The first time I let my little guy fast , I told him too do half half, had a little snack during the middle of the day around noon and then go without for the rest of the day. I don’t push him to hold his fast , if he feels he needs to let go I let him but now a days he seems okay . So far my little fussy one ,who is 4 , does ask questions , he knows its a special month .
