Insha Allah next month we will have Ramadan. My preparation for this month long celebration starts after fifteen of Shabaan. To make things easier during Ramadan I prep up with Ramadan packets , gifts, grocery list, menu planning, frozen food, Chutneys, masala mixes and paste.
Today I am sharing with you a dry fruit mix/ Turri mix. This mix is very easy to make and can be stocked up in advance. There are many variations for this recipe depending on the region and sometimes season. In some recipes makhana (fox nut), chirongi ( Buchanania) or edible gum is used.
The Dry Fruit Powder mix is made with nuts like almond, pistachio, cashew, coconut. Spices like cardamom , saffron & rose are used to give more flavor. This mix is full of pleasant aromas and flavor. I have used a secret ingredient silver leaf for this recipe. Silver leaf gives a little glitter and grandeur to our mix.
The uses of this delicious mix are innumerable. Mix it with milk and boil. Cool & serve chilled, this becomes a nutritious drink to break the fast. To add more variation, add a scoop of icecream and you have a delicious milkshake. Add it to yogurt with little honey and you have delicious lassi. Add it to your icecream mix and eat a yummy dry fruit ice cream.
