Blueberry Lemon Conserve is best way to store fresh or frozen blueberries. This conserve can be used to prepare multiple things like lemonades, pies, topping for cheesecake.
Conserves are the easiest thing to prepare. Believe me. You just throw in combination of fruits or a single fruit with some sugar. Flavor it with any fragrant , throw in some nuts. Cook till it reduces to jam like texture and you are done. Sounds easy na.
My refrigerator is always stocked up with conserves. Be it strawberry, Blueberry Lemon Conserve or a mixed fruits conserve. The thing is I freeze & stock loads for summer berries in season. And before the next season, if any berries are left, I prepare conserves. This has been a kind of rotation each year.
Now you must have got an idea about the ingredients used.
Blueberries (frozen or fresh) : I have used frozen. But fresh can be used too
Sugar : Sugar is must for this recipe. It helps to create an jammy texture with thickness and stickiness
Lemon : I love pairing blueberries with lemon. For this recipe I have used whole lemon. Sliced and added. The flavor of the peels along with the juices gave a delicious flavor to the conserve. Later I squeezed and remove the peel.
