Shikanji Ka Masala/ Lemonade Masala is a special masala used to prepare an Indian Lemonade also known as Shikanji.
Shikanji is one of the most loved drink in summers in India. With its coolant properties and abundance of vitamin c, this drink is must have for summers.
This recipe uses three pantry ingredients
CUMIN
BLACK PEPPER
SALT (Black/Pink/ Normal)
which are easily available in every Indian household. So easy to prepare but a little technical.
Meaning we are using two types of cumin here. One is slightly roasted to give a little nutty feel. And the other raw cumin. This is done to extract more of the flavor. When I say slightly roasted it mean just to the point where it is heated and hot to touch. Burnt cumin is absolutely a big no.
Secondly black salt is mostly used in this recipe. It is kind of digestive. But if you don’t have you can use normal salt or a mix of both. I have used pink himalayan salt as I had it in stock.

- 1 tbsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp Slightly roasted cumin
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp Pink Salt
Instructions
- Mix & grind to powder
- Store in an airtight glass jar
- Use as required
