Dinner Rolls

These are the quick Dinner Rolls which goes well with any Indian curry & also  a delicious accompaniment to masala chai Ramadan Kareem to all the readers of Gheza-e- Shiriin. Hope this Ramadan brings peace & calmness  in our life and helps to overcome the hurdles of life.   I have been MIA from this place as thing were going on a quite fast pace at my personal end. Life now and then throws so many hurdles that sometimes it becomes difficult to cope up. Alhamdolilha now things are in control but there is always a thought in my mind of the uncertainties of life. Due to this reason , I was unable to do my yearly event Ramadan – An Event to share. Insha allah next year. But I will share few of  my favorites  muslimah instagram accounts, on my instagram page. Keep checking. Now to the recipe of this delicious dinner  rolls. 

These Dinner  rolls are quite easy to make.And can be made up in an hour and a half.They are soft , fluffy and gives a  perfect soak to a thin curry be it mutton or chicken based. And taking all the flavors of curry in one bite. A hint of saffron flavor is the surprising element and gives a royal touch to the rolls. Ingredients

  • (I)
  • 30 gm flour
  • 1 tsp Yeast
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • (II)
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 tsp water
  • 1/8 tsp saffron
  • (III)
  • 195 gm Flour
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • More Butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl take all (I) ingredients mix & keep at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes till frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl mix (II) ingredients.
  3. Now using a food processor ( with knead attachment) mix both (I) & (II) mixtures on a low speed. It will be a sticky batter.
  4. Now start adding flour little by little.
  5. Later add the melted butter on high speed & keep mixing till the dough starts leaving the sides of the bowl approximately 5 minutes.
  6. Grease the bowl with butter and place the dough. Cover & let it rise till 1/2 an hour or double in size.
  7. After the dough is double in size, punch it down with floured hands and shape the rolls.
  8. Cover & Keep it again for second rise for about 30 to 40 minutes
  9. Preheat the oven to 200° C. Bake roll till golden.
  10. Once done brush with butter.

Notes

Dough will be very soft.
